Found this while helping a friend clean out her late father's garage. I have no idea what it is.

It almost looks like a c-clamp crossed with a caulk gun. I don't believe it to be handheld though, as it has no handle. There are no stampings/markings on the unit. It's made of stamped steel and cast aluminum.

Any help would be appreciated!

Interesting. I never thought of that, but I see it. I have never seen one like this.

The compressors I used were both very different styles -one had a long handle with a vise grip like mechanism. The other was similar to a puller with an attached handle.

Doing a quick search it would seem like there are many flavors of the valve spring compressor.

Thanks for the replies!

New one for you guys.

Stamped with "09-98 MADE IN USA". This is a 3 part folding tool that looks like a tapered corkscrew. Folded it is 4" long.

screws into a tree to allow you to climb them to your tree stand. need more than one. Old school

Interesting. Thanks!

I've found some other things that I can't quite figure out - I will post up some pictures when I get around to it.

Some new ones - I think these are sheet metal tools?

The punch second from left is marked "APEX" on the inside of the handle. The far right item has an unreadable patent date and the foundry mark cast into the aluminum.

Thanks in advance!
