What is this tool used on and for

Hi All.

Can anyone tell me what machine this tool is used on. My buddy is closing down his small repair shop and liquidating all his tools and tooling. He said he thought it was used on a bridgeport but never used it. Can anyone shed some light on this. cpb

Appears to be a boring head, of a type I have never seen before, pretty interesting.

Yep looks like a boring head to me. Low speed only, oh the eccentricity! I like that it has stops though. Pretty cool.

It's a boring slide for a turret lathe, most likely.

What he said. Definitely a turret slide. Can be used for boring or turning with a knee tool holder.
