What is this tool?

I have this Craftsman tool. It plunges and has reamer type bits in the handle. I was just wondering how old it was and what applications I might have use for it on. No part number anywhere. Thanks.

That is a push drill. Old school.I'm going to guess that is from the 1960's maybe 50's. I have had a few of those. If you have a cordless drill I would mount it on the wall and look at it. I've put a few on Ebay and they don't sell for very much. If you go to estate or garage sales you'll find bits for these in the bottom of drawers or coffee cans as nobody knows what they are for.

Yep, push drill, oiled up properly those actually work real nice on wood. Great for pilot holes before screwing in a screw (and splitting the wood without a pilot hole...)

And the batteries NEVER die or need charged...
