The 1st torque wrench

that's if there is a drive lug on the bottom. What does the bottom look like?

Looks like a vintage cutter for something...hold it vertical and turn the handle for the cutting motion?

It has a hollow brass mechanism that is sharp at the end. It goes down and makes a swiping motion when you crank it. Never seen anything like it.

Looks like a tool used to punch uniform holes in leather or heavy canvas for stitching or lacing. Or dip the tip in ink and make some wicked tattoos.

Thanks for the responses!
It is my grandmother's and she has it at her place, so I don't have any more pictures.
She found it in with her mother's stuff after she had passed away.

Let me see if I understand this right: you crank the handle, and the "blade" swings back and forth? or does it have a plunging action also?

What does the tip of the "blade" look like and the back side of that area?
