I admit to being a tool collector and am constantly adding to the shop arsenal of preparedness. A week ago today I found this at one of my favorite flea markets.

How many of you know what it is or does? Anyone own one or use one?

No Charles, no prise for you this time.

Caper, are you trying to read the label? I don't think you have it either.

Anyway, I'm hoping to hear from folks that may own/use one of these with their band mill or whatever.

Some background; a link to the Badger welder at $279.00 here;

http://www.advancecarmover.com/

I bought this look-a-like welder this past Sat. and it's identical to the Badger except mine is green instead of red in color. The one I got is branded a Bandit Bander instead of Badger and is manufactured by RPM MFG. CO. INC.. Printed material is also very close - yellow warning sticker and operating instructions.

Note; Caper may have had it first but I wasn't sure based on his limited reply.

and olds394, it's in the mail. Not really, I've just always wanted to say that and plugged it in here. Thanks for all the replies thus far.

I saw the "shape" of the words (Appleton, Wi) in the picture.

At least I'd heard of Appleton.

Googled it from there.:)

My searches keep coming back to the Badger welder but nothing on the Bandit Bander has come up yet. If you find something on the Bandit name brand, please bring it to my attention. Do the words welder and bander mean the same thing depending on what country you are in?

Not that I know of. I think he was talking about "strap" banding....
Black steel banding....usually tightened and crimped with little "C" clips...like the picture under the link.

I searched RPM and got this....scroll down a little.

Thanks for the help. I got to the RPM Mfg. site but didn't see any welders mentioned. I doubt I would have thought to try just RPM, good lead olds394.

Its a band saw blade welder. It works off a small car battery. I invented it myself several years ago. I have also sold the entire operation to another company to manufacture. I hope
this helps you.
