What Is This Tool?

Got this a couple of weeks back because it was .... free. Now I got to figure out what it is used for? Any ideas?

Not sure but with the lip on the jaws I'd say that it is used to separate two pieces of metal that have a bolt through it. Maybe a ball joint separator?

This looks like a fence wire/barbwire tentioning tool we used on the farm when I was a kid.

They should be used with "Fencemasters". These are fence pliers, cutters and staple hammer in one. Another Cool Tool.
