I’m helping a friend sell his dads watchmaker tools. Looks like a very small brass lathe. What is this?

A very neat vintage tool. Similar to bench centers but watchmakers size. With the tool rest I expect you could also spin a part between the dead centers with a bow or similar for light lathe work. Search Plain steel turns. Ed.

Yes, I think it is for poising a balance wheel.
