What is this?

Doesn't look like any wheel weight tool i've ever seen. Its only about 5" long. No markings.

Maybe a couple more pictures. What does it look like in the groove where the pokey thing goes?

Does the "ring" do anything?

Does it come apart or adjust in any way?

Two things I think are making this difficult, it looks like its a piece of something, maybe held in with snap rings, and it looks a bit damaged.

I'm going to go with cowboy73 and put my bet on a wheel weight tool, maybe modified or missing part of the handle.

Either that, or it's a duckdo.

Damn if I know. But I don't think it's a tool, it looks like part of some kind of mechanism. The rusted part is a roller to engage a cam or something like that. Part of a knotter of some kind?

That's what I thought at first too when I saw the original post.

My first thought was that it was part of a trailer hitch mechanism or something from a semi-trailer.

Then I compared the OP's images to pictures of different wheel weight tools using google image. The jaws are identical to almost all of the common wheel weight tools and even the knob looks like the hammer part of the tools. The handle is like no other though, and that's why I'm still unsure.

Although it may be a duckdo.

I don't know what a duckdo does, but if the truck was hit in the front and damaged the steering, maybe this was a front-end part to act as a wheel stop when turning.

What a Duckdo does is quack.

Do look kinda like a wheel weight tool, but basic differences I think rule that out. WWT has two handles and works like pliers with slim tips to slip under a wheel weight.

I know it is a knotter, but I'm not sure what it is out of. I have had one in my hand like that. I think it is from a grain binder.

Its a bill hook for inside a baler! It ties the knot in the baler twine as the bales are coming out of a baler.

Heres a video, some what long and boring but very infromative.

I never worked on twine balers, just wire.
