That's what I was thinking, too. I think it's in the same realm but maybe not the same usage.

I looked it up under the name I'd call it and only saw versions relatively similar but nothing like it.

I have a feeling there are a few people here that've actually used one a time or two.

He thinks it is some kind of pin spanner wrench. He originally thought it was some kind of hydrant wrench, but he has not been able to find a similar image. The thing that is confusing is that there are 3 hole for 3 pins. Most spanner wrenches seem to be set up for 2 pins.

Could be the 3 hole is the "12 pt version not 6 pt" as in only two holes engaged at a time, but allows a shorter swing angle.

Most spanner wrenches seem to be set up for 2 pins.

I think this is a weird thread because I think you're BSing us a bit by saying what he thought it was. I don't think there was any clue before the firemen quote.

Anyhow, this quote above has me miffed. A 2 pin spanner is pretty much the opposite of this tool. If anything, this is a pin lug spanner (wrench). But, I'll be honest, I've never seen one like it.
