A badly neglected dial indicator with what looks to be a homemade mount.

Try putting some oil on the rod end and see if it works smooth. Might clean up and work alright.

A dial indicator like that could have been used in a variety of measuring applications from centering bar stock in a lathe to adjusting tools in machines.
The K & T name on it means it was a gauge that was checked out of the plant gauge crib to be used and returned when done with it. Property of Kearney & Trecker.
Federal Gauge is a quality manufacturer and widely used in machine shops.
