Hi, I am a woodworker and tool collector. As a yard sale junkie, I add to my shop by buying bulk lots and selling off what I don't add to my collection. I run across tools that I can't correctly identify. Thought someone might know what the wrench is for. It has an L inside a box and P-51. Cast iron. Thanks Bruce

I believe that may be a wrench that farmers used some time back on horse drawn stuff or early tractors. Try googling Old Farm Wrench or Old Buggy or Old Wagon Wrench and see what ya get.

Don't believe it's farm related, not long enough to provide much leverage. Farm equipment is used in a dirty, often muddy environment and fastners get stuck, need some leverage to move things.

I have seen pictures before so before we rule out farm wrenches maybe the op should pull up the wrenchingnews.com and look through all the pictures maybe it will show up.

What sizes are the open ends ? I agree that it might be for a cutting torch set. The Oxygen & acetylene regulators generally take 2 different sizes where they screw onto the bottles and the square hole could be for turning on the Acetylene. The regulators usually have brass nuts where they connect and a short wrench would be usefull to prevent over tightening. Of course I could be full of it too...
