Third pic are feeler gauges, with the bottom 2 specifically for spark plugs. The dog bone shaped piece with the slot grabs the electrode to adjust the gap.

I can remember cleaning up points with the graphite strip on matchbooks. Kinda glad were past that ****...but then tune-ups were a lot easier. Damn, I'm feelin old.

I'm not sure about easier, but they sure were more frequent.
