Sorry but I have no details other than the picture.

It is coming up for sale but I won't be able to get a closer look until mid-March.

Some kind of metal working tool I believe. A strange bead roller maybe? A bizarre sheet metal brake?

Anybody recognize it?

Thanks!

I'm pretty sure it is just a simple stapler. My dad has a bunch of these at his work. I'll take a picture next time I'm there.

I found a couple of these that are headed for scrap if they don't find a home. bostitch model no.7's to be specific. they are supposed to be able to staple up to 250 sheets of paper with the right wire so they aren't light weight.

this is just an image off the 'net to give you an idea what I'm talking about:

has anyone repurposed these as a P hammer or similar? or can anyone think of what they could be used for or modified to be used for that is car/metal work related? I love free stuff (it suits my budget) and hate to see good stuff scraped, but I don't exactly do a lot of book binding.

while it could be funny to break into my friends houses and staple all of their books shut, it is not the kind of thing that I'd actually do.

If they really are free take them. Worst case you get some free motors and pulleys and other parts you can strip off of them. Then scrap the cast Iron frames or sell them to an antique shop. Somebody will eventually buy them as "art".
