Great idea! I posted there first, but since no one has identified the item, I decided to broaden my appeal for help with a separate thread. There is a huge thread on workmates (53 pages), try asking on it?
Black & Decker Workmate
I thought it would be appropriate to dedicate a thread to the Black & Decker Workmate, that folding, versatile bench and vise that has helped many a do-it-yourselfer around the world, including me. It has helped me immensely the odd times I have had to work with wood and sometimes even with the...www.garagejournal.com
Great idea! Picture attached. The item is about 2.5 inches tall and fits snugly into the 20mm hole on a workmate. However, no one on the Workmate thread has identified it and a google search for Workmate accessories has failed to find an answer. I am hoping someone on here has encountered this item and tell me what it is.Including a ruler in the picture would be a big help, so we can see what size it is. Without something else for reference, it could be an inch long or a foot long.

There are no markings on it at all. The only WM connection, to my knowledge, is that a pair of these were inserted in the holes of the WM that I rescued from the side of the road. I have thought of just throwing them away, but I suffer from this compulsion of wanting to know what any tool I encounter is and how to use it. Something designed like this just has to have a purpose, right? And I might have that very need ... someday.Does it have a number on it?
If no one can identify it in the Workmate thread I'm temped to say it is not a Workmate item but something from an entirely different industry that just happens to fit in the Workmate holes.
