I scored this exact kit a couple of weeks ago for a total of $165. including shipping. I put in a lowball bid never expecting to win and i now own it. Nice stuff btw.

edit: it was a different seller, however. i got mine from deanscoins

I'll tell you one thing. A while back Mac was selling all of that stuff together with that bag for $200. I doubt it's fake by the way. Unless he sends different stuff from the pics.

It is the taiwan made stuff with the mac price tag, My mac dealer knows better than to try to sell this stuff to me, I'm not saying it is junk but to much $$$$$$$$. IMO

Exactly, that's why they're popular but still a very expensive premium IMO for overseas stuff. It's just a very cheap alternative offered by the truck brands but with the formerly "upscale" Mac name.

MAC... what have they become??????? i don't know many folks that take them seriously anymore. Too bad, really... they had some of the best customer service.

YES, everything in that picture is made in Taiwan and MAC branded. That set sells often for $200 off of the truck. :)

You know, I'm not so sure about that. Some of the hose grip pliers and large nose pliers look like they're a KAL Tools product; and some of the other pliers look to be from Channellock. Those screwdrivers look to be the English PROTO screwdrivers. So yeah, I'm not quite ready to condemn them Taiwanese just yet. :dunno:

I doubt that very much. Certainly the "tongue & groove" pliers - that most Channellock of plier - is not made by Channellock; they look to me like a cheap generic import...

And those adjustable wrenches (not "pliers") look really cheap too! (In fact, how do you trust a guy who doesn't know a plier from a wrench?)

I bought a few single pieces of that set a while back. Every single one of them was junk. Good thing I didn't pay much for them.

Expect SO to start making a junk set like that before too much longer.
