Having to search for a special tool that I know I have but can't seem to find. Also, losing a wrench, most likely a socket, while working on the engine of a car. It didn't fall through so did the tool monster eat it? Always the most common size so I end up having to buy another to replace it.

When I tore my GTO down, I found several nut drivers, a screwdriver and 3 sockets down inside the lower cowl, and a lifter INSIDE the rocker panel. No earthly idea how that lifter got there!

When I tore down mine (67), I found a lot of drug paraphernalia! A roach under the carpet, and pipes in the quarter panels.......

Didn't find any of that.......then again, it may have been there at one time but I'm sure it had rotted away by the time I got my hands on it! She was pretty rusty. My niece saw it and exclaimed "I love the tie die color!" I often think about how pi$$ed off the guy that dropped that lifter must have been :lol_hitti

I hate shovels with concrete on them. It makes them unnecessarily heavy. The friction keeps them from digging correctly. Why in the world anyone would allow concrete to dry on a shovel I will never understand. Especially if you borrowed the shovel from me

This^^

I work in construction (anything concrete or brick oriented)
Each crew at the company has a designated truck, each truck has its tools and sometimes trucks/crews get swapped around.
I too hate when people dont bother to clean concrete tools after use, nothing like starting a new job only to grab a shovel thats coated in cured concrete.
Alot of times this happens because alot of guys are working close to the clock/put it long hours,by the time the jobs done they just wanna get the fu*k out of there/get home,i understand it.
But still, takes 5 mins to clean your tools...

What really gripes my **** are sockets that don't show their size when they're on a rail clip.
Many moons ago, when I was younger and wrenched for a living, I could look at a socket and tell what size it was.
Now that I'm older and don't have micrometer vision anymore (plus I don't use my sockets that often) it would be nice to be able to pick up a set of sockets and scan across them and READ the size while on the rail....I have Snap-on, Mac, Craftsman, and various other brand sockets and NONE of them (except one) line up on the rail clip where you can see ALL the sizes. :wtf:
Doesn't seen like it would be that hard for the tool manufacturer to index one flat side of the socket's drive before they're stamped or engraved so the size would always face out when placed on a rail......:dunno:

The only set I have that all the sizes line up (not exactly perfect but close) is a set of OEM (a division of GreatNeck) SAE hex bit sockets.....

Hex bits and Torx sockets are the worst....I've got some Craftsman torx that have no size on them at all and I can't tell a T45 from a T47 or T50 etc...

There may be (newer?) brands out there that might all line up......but the one I have (most were bought in the early '70's) don't!

:rolleyes2

Everytime I get my socket rails fully sorted, the fastener manufacturer come out with a new type of bolt! Every year I end up buying something usually with an acronym in female and male in 1/4" and 3/8" just so I can carry on working. I guess the Pet peeve is a) my toolbox is not big enough (always the case) and b)I dont get paid enough to keep buying SO tools.
