That free pocket screwdriver by Alexander that has a small 1/8 flat tip blade and a magnet on the other end with a tool truck logo on it. I never want to be without one. Opens parts boxes, removes connectors and trim pieces. It probably does everything but, be a screwdriver.

...always seems to work for any job.

Ain't that the truth!

My BurrKing 960-272 ,1hp belt grinder. Nothing like the smell of a piece of high carbon or damascus steel getting hot and sending off a shower of sparks as you grind it into a knife blade.

We need pics!

my Lagun milling machine.

Jealous! Those are great machines.

Here's my favorite: http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item...group_ID=19798&store=snapon-store&dir=catalog

I swapped the shank with the TMR4 which has a 4" shank instead of the 8" of the TMRT8.

I just bought a super nice headlight for my head that's super bright, lightweight and works just so well.Works great, especially when doing detail work, like carb rebuilds.

It's an Led Lenser H7 headlight.

Uses 3 AAA batteries that last a long time, and the light is so bright It's almost blinding. There is a lever on the battery pack that allows you to adjust the brightness, then on the headlight there is a lever you move for pinpoint focus,on up to wide-area light. The battery pack is on the other side,at the back of the head so it's got a balanced feel to it.

I can still wear my earmuffs, and it's so handy not having to hold and point a flashlight.

I bought it from the SO man,and he said he sells a lot of them.

I was bummed when I googled it tonight,though.......and saw all of the cheaper places to buy it from.I really overpaid. But heck,it's easier on the budget spreading the payments out a couple weeks.

Anyway,that's my NEW favorite tool!

Steve

My favorite tool is invariably whatever I've bought most recently.

Right now that would be my Cman thread restorer kit that was still made in US of A and I think was 40 bucks or so.

Now I just need to find a nice tap and die set...

My welder. It's only a 110 Lincoln unit using flux-cored wire, but I get a bonner everytime I pull the trigger

The tool I couldn't live without would be a cordless driver. Mine's due for an upgrade but I'm riding this horse until it dies. Not saying I love using it; I just couldn't live without it. Sort of like air.

My particular model was the first cordless driver to go into outer space on a shuttle mission.

If you're talking "Damn, that thing works great!" and "Got me out of a jam!" sort of a hand tool, I'd nominate the Knipex wrench plier:

If you're talking "I'm going to go entertain myself with a power tool for an hour," then this:

If you are talking, "I am MAN, let physical objects BOW BEFORE ME" sort of a tool, then this:

That's because it went out to the lowest bidder, we all know that! :lol_hitti Otherwise it would have been DeWalt black and yellow all the way! :spit:

Probably my Lincoln Vista 2000 or the Oxy-acetylene torch. The helmet because it fits just right and the torch because you can make magic happen if you know what you are doing.

I'd have to say my favorite tool is my Lincoln Power mig 180. I'll go out in the shop and find something to weld just for the sake of welding it. I also enjoy my old 70's Lincoln 225 "buzz box" arc welder. I have enjoyed welding since I took the welding class in high school

My end cutting pliers. Not sure if its my most used, but I could not live without them. They come in handy for a bunch of tasks. Feel like I am always using them for something.

I own a lot more Mac Tools than Snappies, but my old black SnapOn ratcheting screwdriver always makes me smile. It's just a fantastic tool.

My second favorite tool is an old double-point machinist's scribe that has about a billion uses and always comes in handy. It cost about $5.00 and might be the best use for a $5.00 bill ever invented.

Your dad was the man - not just for making the thing, but also for being a tough enough SOB to break that Bonney ratchet.

He used to do petro gas piping and they were really hard on stuff i imagine it was a victim of some mechanical persuasion

My old CMan Pro ratcheting driver. That thing has more bits than I know what to do with and I've kept it in every car I've owned. Great tool.

Picking a favorite tool is like asking a parent which is their favorite child. Sorry but it doesn't work that way.

My extendable magnet with an LED in the tip. Every time i drop a bolt or socket into some unseen chasm of an engine compartment, it's always there to talk me down from burning the thing to the ground in a blind fury. Turn the light on, entend, retrieve, all is right in the world again.
