:dunno: Here we go again and this one has a part number. It is a Blue-Point 9/16" tool. The part number is YA9045. The external "socket" is 9/16" & the internal "hex bit" measures 1/8". I've can't find it through any search engine. So, WHAT'S IT FOR?

Looks like it is for the top nut on a strut. The hex holds the shaft still while you tighten the nut, but there are other concentric applications that work the same way.
