What I've gotten into

Hey All,

Moved into our first house in March. Lucky that the inside is updated and only needed some paint changed around.

I quickly turned to the garage as the previous owners had left holes in the firewall so they could run wires to where they had the flat screen in the living room. I thought - as long as I patch this Sheetrock, the garage will look so much better. It did look much better..... and now I'm afraid I'm hooked to experience and have turned this into a substantial project for myself (although nothing compared to many on this board..)

Aside from the holes in the firewall, the side door was rotted, Sheetrock had pinholes from darts, some of the ceiling had water damage, and some walls were not sheet rocked.

What I've done so far:
Sheet rocked/insulated the walls
Replaced rotted side door
Installed attic ladder
Paint
Installed utility sink
Moved all wiring to above ceiling

And what I plan to do:
Floor treatment or tiles
Build cabinets/workbench (wood, DIY)
Insulate Ceiling

What else would you do? I'll try to post before - now pictures

Steevo, I think your right. Thank you for reminding me why I am here every morning with my cup of coffee.

My name is rjpete, and I too am a garage addict.

This site has such a collection of ingenuity. Search, Read, Search some more. There are so many great garages to draw ideas from that are completely documented here.

I will building my garage next spring and for the last 4 months I have been reading this site daily. The ideas never stop to amaze.

Just remember, the garage is a place to work on projects. The more time you spend working on the garage the less time you have to work on the projects the garage is for.

kmacht, I can certainly appreciate that advice!

While money and imagination may be factors to where one takes their garage, another challenge is time. I have been putting my regular hobbies on hold for this and can't wait to get all of my garage **** out of our spare bedroom!

I don't have great pictures showing before and after, so you will have to bare with me as these are all taken through different stages until where it now.

This image showing where the roof had leaked as well as the general condition of the walls.

The east wall. This photo shows the rotted door and is where some of the project stemmed from. That corner did not have sheetrock so I decided - I'll just sheetrock this corner...

The west wall after sheetrock and workbench were removed. Also, power (couple duplexes and 220 receptacle) were mounted to the wall at 4 ft. they were previously mounted on the workbench.
