On drill bits -

I bought two sets of "29 piece drill bits with metal index" for $5 each on Amazon including shipping. As anyone would guess, they aren't worth a poo for drilling. But there's 29 different sized steel rods in each one. Plugs, bench stops, index studs, center finders, caulk tube plugs, rollers, whatever.

I use the two index cases as hand props when soldering, die grinding etc.

They'll even work for drilling if you want to make holes in something like soft plastic, styrofoam etc.
