Getting ready to do a 1200sf detached. Don't know if I'll use it right away but want to put PEX in the slab for later. There seems to be a big difference in price of tubing, all with o2 barrier. What do I need?

I did exactly the same thing. I put the PEX in and didn't hook it up for 2 years after the shop was built. We had 2 really warm winters....then the bottom fell out. We got really cold so I made it all functional. I used 4 loops, 250' each, and I just used 1/2" tubing with the barrier. Basically it is this:

Good Luck with your project!

Thanks Craig. Where in NM are you? My in-laws are in Las Cruces, so we get out there occasionally.

The two MANUF of pex are Rehau and Uponor. Basically, the rest are repackagers. There may be another but they are the primary two. Definitely use the oxygen barrier pex.
