What kind of socket is this?

I found a few of these when I was cleaning out my family's garage. I didn't notice the hexagonal input until I started going through the box I had these in. Can anyone identify? Markings are "made in USA" and 18mm

Looks like an Indestro 3/8 hex drive to me, it may be bigger though. Can't tell for sure

I think you may be right. I also think I have the ratchet that goes with these. I found this pic online of the sockets and ratchet.

All the Indestro sockets I can find only have one knurled line, and these sockets have two.

I have a bunch of these sockets and can't identify them either.

Good question. I was just looking through some old Snap-On catalogs and they don't list any metric sizes in their general catalog until about 1960.

In Europe they were.

Some European/German tool companies also used a hex drive. I forget off hand which ones but I remember them turning up in some thread or other on GJ.

No, they're from Sears. Guess this is payback for all the obsolete hex socket sets I ignored over the years.
