What model Atlas Drill Press is this?

What model you think it is?

Also, a few other questions if you have time...
1. What is it worth?
2. Would it be suitable for metal drilling? (drilling and tapping a railroad spike)
3. Are step down pulley available for this model and do you know from where?

Thank you for your time. This is gonna be my first drill press purchase so any help is appreciated. :)

At a guess, it's their basic floor model 14"; a good all-around home shop machine.

Yes, you could drill a railroad spike. Up to 1/4" diameter, and when on the slowest speed, it works OK in mild steel.

Yes, there was a slow speed intermediate pulley available, but I've never seen one for sale.

FWIW, the speed reduction pulley is not difficult to make, but since you're just starting out, you may have to do some research and practice a bit first. How many deep holes greater than 1/4" will you be making?

I saw that one posted online. I'd pay $200-$300 if the motor is good. No cracks, or damaged pulleys. I'd be curious if the light is original.

I bought a table unit with the low speed pulley and a non-original craftsman 1/2 HP motor. I paid $185. It also needed a Jacobs Chuck.

You can't get a better drill for the money in my opinion .

What's the ID of the column? The seller sells them with a spacer that can handle a range of sizes-- believe mine is 2.5"
