What model Ingersoll-Rand T30 pump is this?!

I bought this old Saylor-Beall compressor off Craigslist and at some point, a replacement Ingersoll-Rand T30 pump was installed. Unfortunately, the identification tag is missing.

Also unfortunate is the fact that I've found it desperately needs to be rebuilt! (Of course I was promised it was in excellent condition, but that's another story) I can move the flywheel up and down nearly a 1/4"...

However, in order for me to buy a rebuild kit, I NEED to figure out which model T30 pump this is and, of course, IR made a trillion different models and then even divided those into submodels.

Can anyone familiar with T30 pumps positively identify this model?

You may be able to reverse-lookup the model by taking part numbers from the cylinders and running searches on them in Google.

Mine has 32247562 cast on the side of the high pressure cylinder, and running a search for "ingersoll rand 32247562" on google returns multiple listings that state "for model 2475 two-stage compressor", which is the model I have.

I have one that looks pretty close to yours, I'll post pics tomorrow. I believe mine is a 234C4. Mine needs a crank, balancer and 2 rods. Meanless to say, I went a different route because the parts were going to cost over $400.

Aruba has it, a 234. Three horsepower 175 PSI. Good compressor.

Tried searching using the casting number on the low pressure cylinder which is 25018. Didn't come up with anything at all. That's the only number I have handy at the moment.

Let me also say that after 2 hours scouring the internet, my best guess towards the model is a 242, but there were multiple versions. 5C, 5D, 5N... etc.

I want to make certain, otherwise I'm going to be spending a lot of money on an overhaul kit that is wrong. And I can't afford that.

Do you know whats wrong with the pump? I would open it first and inspect the damage. Then price the parts based on 242 or 243 pump to have an idea if its feasible to rebuild or keep looking for a used pump. I have good pistons, rings and bores. My rods are good too if the bottom part that touched the oil can be re-welded in place although you probably would want new rods. Then again, yours may just be fine.

I'm assuming that because I can move the flywheel up and down a 1/4", that the crank roller bearings are toast. It's amazing a heavy duty roller bearing could be that shot, it's almost like someone ran it without oil.

I knew I recognized your avatar but I couldn't place it. Just hit me a second ago, I know you from the Bolens Forum on MTF! Small world, haha.

Pulley diameter is 15.25". Crank snout diameter is 1 1/16".

Those number/letter combinations after the basic three digit model refer to tank size and horsepower. You may very well have a 253. What horsepower is the motor?
It looks like there are only three inter cooler tubes. Are there any missing? A 253 would have had 4 IIRC.

Hmm... so a 5C would refer to 5hp motor and what is a "C" tank size?

The motor is a 5hp Leeson, but remember the motor is not original to the pump or the tank. None of the 3 major components came together.

Yes, only 3 intercooler tubes and there are none missing.

EDIT: Just looked up some pictures of a 253, they do seem to have 4 intercooler tubes plus the low pressure cylinder looks larger with a slightly different casting shape.

It appears to have just one intercooler tube and judging by the spacing of the bolts on the front crankcase cover, it is slightly smaller than mine.
