What model is this neglected Snap-on box?

A guy is selling this on the local Craigslist asking 400 OBO. I offered him $100 and an old laptop I've got sitting around in the closet. It looks like he's going to go for it, so I'd like some more info on this box. It's a project for sure.

I'm bad at model numbers, Kr-555 I think. Having the old style handle I betting it is friction slides, but if you get that for a $100 that is total ****. It looks too rough for $400.

Have you looked at it in person? A mint version would probably be worth $400, but that one sure isn't mint. Hope you didn't make a deal with him w/o looking at it. I'm thinking that's worth around $150...$200 tops.

How much is your laptop worth?

Looks like a mid '80s box, friction slides...I have one like that with 7 drawers and it's a KR557

I haven't seen the box in person yet. I'm certainly not going to solidify anything until I see it, but at $100 and a laptop I didn't need anyway, I'm probably going to go for it unless there are broken slides or welds.

The KR-555 sure looks close, but that's a 9 drawer cab and I count 8 on this box?

The slides can be warrantied thruough S-O, so bent ones wouldnt be too much of a deal breaker, but check over the rest of the box well.

It's almost certainly a kr-5xx, I thought 557 at first but the drawer configuration is different. Friction slides for sure with that old side handle, but those snap-on friction slides work very nicely if you keep them lubed occasionally.
