What model is this sanborn compressor?

A friend was given a true 5hp 80 gal compressor, but it feels like it has a broken rod. I think we found a sanborn label under the paint that someone sprayed all over it. We have not torn down the pump yet, since we don't know if it is even worth messing with.

I was hoping that someone here could id the pump or let me know if there may be numbers on any of the parts. I do not see any id stamped into the pump, unless the paint is just hiding it. That black cap over the crank location looks like it may say made in Italy. Another tag has info to contact for service and the address listed is Department WCB PO Box 129 Springfield MN....just in case this gives some clue. I think the tag on the tank was from the mid 80's, so I assume the pump is that old as well.

Right now my friend's 25 gallon compressor hardly gets used in his shop (more of a storage place for business equipment) so I doubt he wants to spend a lot of money on this machine, but if we can repair it for a decent price, he might run it or flip it.

Yes, it does.

Is there any id or model number on your pump?
Or, a model number for the entire machine that would allow me to look your unit up on a parts web site?

Thanks for the reply and help!

Ya it's stamped in the aluminum on the pump. I ordered a rebuild kit for it about 6 years ago....head gasket went. I have the info in the shop. Will get it tomorrow for you

The ABP460 would make me think it is a B4600, which was replaced by the current B4900 or T29S. The intercooler tube on this doesn't match the B4900

Thanks guys.

The B6000 pump housing doesn't match exactly, but it is close. The ABP460 looks identical from the photos.

I can check that area of the pump for stamps and I may have to open the pump to get some measurements to verify what it is.

I will post back whenever I get back to my friend's shop and look into it some more.
