I've been thinking hard about epoxy, vct, or racedeck. I've been reading post after post, seeing numerous photos on here, and still can't make up my mind. Please help. Here's the relevant info: 2 separate, unconnected garages (20 x 21) and (10 x 14). To start out, I will only do the smaller garage, there's just so much stuff in the big garage since we just moved into this house. I will not be doing anything heavily mechanical, like a real auto shop. Mostly maintenance, changing wheels, installing headers, no welding. If $ was not a factor, what would you do? I looked at, and have received some samples, of racedeck tiles. They're OK, but I'm not sure I like the plasticky feeling of walking on them, maybe I can get used to it? Appearance wise, I really like the smooth, shiny surface of vct tiles., and they look gorgeous with the checkerboard pattern. For longevity, epoxy is nice, but it's labor intensive. I will also be putting in a portable scissor mid-rise lift in the near future.

Thanks for any and all your opinions!

I'm really in the same boat, where I don't plan on doing anything in my garage that I can forsee destroying a nice Epoxy finish, but I was thinking of a scissor-lift at some future date as well. The info on here is really amazing but also overwhelming. I'd love one of the senior members to go through the sticky and maybe add a pros/cons sections to the brands & prices. That would be a big job but SO worth it in terms of readily available information.

What I've decided to do is go with an epoxy coat for the full garage and add a small tiled section to where the single car/lift will be when I start noticing wear in the finish.
