I am looking at painting some stuff in my garage to help amplify the light and make it look less home built. That being said it will be mostly osb and 2x4s but some of it will be metal supports that secures the shelf. I would like a white I know its crazy but hints my need of help. I want something that is fairly durable but can be cleaned with just wiping off with a damp cloth. Roll or brush on would be the best for ease of install but spray on could be used. Ive got a lot of shelves and walls to do so the more budget friendly the better. I was thinking a semigloss should work but I don't know how well it will hold up is there something better?

No shelves myself but when I did my garage it ended up being white gloss oil based paint. We bought a lot of paint at one time for the new to us house. When I was looking for the oil based, I couldn't find it and assumed the box store ignored my request and gave me all water based stuff. Nope found out when it wouldn't thin and go through the sprayer. I just grabbed a roller and went at it. Best mistake to happen. It can be wiped off with water or a light solvent and it being gloss reflects light pretty well. The yellow look is from the overhead lights, the whiter parts of the sides is sun light.

I believe it's actual gloss paint, it was intended for our front porch but got lost in the mix. We bought 3 gallons of water based for trim and the garage and 1 gallon of oil base for the porch, all white. To emphasize how much we bought, the total bill at Lowe's was around $450 for all of the paint including a 5 gallon bucket of of what most of the house is painted inside with. Porch and interior trim were all painted 1st and that was one of the last buckets. It's between 4-5 years old, as that's when we bought the house and my nightmare of having to paint everything. Those pics are around a year old to be exact because that black toolbox in the middle is in a corner now and I have a 56'' Harbor Freight in the middle. It has a tint of yellow to it I guess, but I'm not sure it's the paint. Once I discovered what it was, I used the stuff anyway even though I had mixed some solution into it that would have thin down water based for my sprayer. The sidewall a are probably pure white paint as I didn't mix the whole bucket with the solution. Times were hard at that point and I wasn't throwing away a $30-40 bucket of paint. Those walls were bare when we bought the house. No primer, just holes where the guy half assed trying to hang stuff and couldn't hit a stud for nothing. It could also be the fact it was cold when I painted it, probably in the 40's. I know better now, than then. Even with me half screwing it up it's an improvement. I'm a car guy in all honesty and home improvement is something I'm learning, especially the artistic part. I'm no artist. If there's time today, I'll get you a crappy pic with my phone with the cars out and door shut. It might give you a better idea of how bright it is. I run two 150 equivalent curly bulbs out there. They only actually pull 40w each, and that slides under the limit on my crappy ceiling fan.

that would be good I have a 2 car over sized with 6 t-8 4 lamp fixtures in it for general lighting and all the dark colors absorb the light like crazy. I also have 3- 2 lamp over my fab area and 1 over my bench. I will be adding 3-4 more over my tooling area for spot lighting at the press, drill etc I feel like I have a crazy amount of light but its being wasted.
