OK. I just bought these at an auction.

(QTY: 19) M62-24 Magnalocks
1200 lbs. holding force Magnalock with automatic dual voltage.

(QTY: 6) M32-24 Magnalocks
600 lbs. holding force Magnalock with automatic dual voltage.

Half of them are new in box. Half of them are take offs, and working fine.
I am thinking of ideas to integrate them into a welding table or for magnetic holders for swapping out the bench grinders.
What would you do with there?
Rarely do I say the price was too good to pass up but this time it was.

I'd make a rolling magnetic sweeper that functions from a 12V drill battery. Since those magnets have some real strength it would be nice to have a sweeper that has enough ground clearance to be useful over grass/mulch AND still be functional.

I personally would make one to work on an arm and use it to catch shavings on my saws or cutters.
I may actually buy one of those now just for that.

The holding force is based on an armature that's in contact with the magnet. A quarter inch away, it will hardly lift a nail. I wouldn't bother using it as a sweeper.

I keep one in my shop to use with my tablesaw featherboard. I plug the magnet into a 12V drill battery, and clamp my featherboard to it with it attached to the cast iron top. You can push it around, but not easily, and it holds sufficiently well for this purpose.

edit: dogdog, yes, it could make an ok magnetic chuck I guess.

electromagnets are cool, but when it comes to feather boards, I use this. (each of the two magnets is rated for 95 lbs of holding force) Just turn the knobs 90 degrees to operate

Yeah, that's what inspired me. I already had the electromagnet, and I know that it's holding power is WAY stronger.

Thanks for the input.
I am getting a few ideas.
1. A magnetic table for the drill press seems like a handy idea.
2. Some modified c-clamps where I just have the half with the screw as hold down clamps for welding might be good. Like the picture, but magnetic.
3. A magnetic fence for the bandsaw might be handy also.
I have a hand plasma that I seldom to never use. A magnetic fence I could use for doing straight lines might be useful. I might use it more.

Hmm, the homemade mag drill idea would be cool. I've been thinking about modifying a drill press to be clamp on for drilling holes in truck frames, but doing that with magnets would be sweet.

If you decide to sell any, I would be interested in a couple if the price is right.
