Building a new garage this summer. A portion of it will be on an existing slab. The new portion has pex in the concrete and I am trying to size a boiler.

The slab is not currently insulated. I am going to try and insulate the sides as much as I can. Not idea, but it will have to do.

The area with pex in the concrete is 432 square feet.

What size boiler would be ideal?

This is like asking.....I want to build a swimming pool and I need to know what size filter am I going to need! As far as we know, you may live in Hawaii and you could heat it with a match. Lots of info. needed to determine the size of your boiler. I'm sure Badger will help you!

Where are you at? How much insulation? How many doors and windows? How warm do you need it and how much time are you going to be in there?

just spiraling here, can you justify heating the floor to 50*, and use a unit heater to make the structure comfortable?

Basically, you will be experimenting. I would suggest finding a craigslist boiler for $200 and see how it goes. Find something in the 50-100btu range. No since in spending 1500+ to find out it is not what you had in mind.
