I am going to start converting a boat trailer into a canoe hauler, much like the one in the photo. I'm curious what guage box I should use for the uprights and the cross pieces. It will be 3x3 for the uprights and 1 1/4 for the crosspieces. It won't be the weight of the boats so much as the wind resistance force I'm concerned about. I have not seen the pictured trailer in person to determine what they used.
