What size flare nut wrenches for typical DIY'er

Hey gents. I am looking to buy a nice set of Flare Nut wrenches to cover most of my auto mechanic work. Was hoping you all could point me in a direction as far as what the most common sizes are and what I should look for in a set. I drive a 2006 Lincoln Mark LT (essentially same thing as F-150) and the wife drives a 2007 Saturn Ion.

My set is 3 wrenches 3/8-7/16, 1/2-9/16, 5/8-11/16. Used these for years and covered 99% of what I needed, I suppose a person should have a metric set in roughly the same sizes, probably 8mm through 17mm or so.

You will want metric sizes 8-19mm... now what's more important is what brand you get.

I think we have something in common. 2008 with 47k on it. Bought it new in 2009. I am holding on to it till they make another pick up. I heard it may be coming soon.

I have an SK set of flare nut wrenches. Either SK or Snap On.

No, not a lot. But I figured if the original poster needed to use them a lot, he wouldn't be asking what sizes to buy

They fit well though, I've mainly used them on power steering lines on BMW's without any issues

I have a set of these too. They seem to fit well and haven't broken yet. I think they are worth the price for the occasional user.

I see that some guys here highly recommend Snap-On flare nut wrenches for top quality. Probably the best for a professional mechanic.
