What size infrared heater ?

I have a 30x40 pole barn what size infrared tube heater would I need for this setup I have a 14 ft ceiling and it is insulated ?

An Infrared heater warms things, not spaces. You want them pointing at spots where you will be doing work.

Do you have no other source of heat?

Hard to give hvac recommendations without a location, too

I live in Michigan about 40 miles north of Detroit

Smallest one you can find.
That comment is funny, but true! 50,000 BTU should be more than enough for a building with reasonable insulation. Add leaky doors, poor insulation, and you can add more BTU .

Start with one or two 1500W plug-in/portable infrared products. Move them around and see how you like it. From there you can decide on more wattage and/or mounting types.

Heating the space inside the shop should be left to another method.
