What Size Spring Clip for SK Ratchet?

So after lots of reading on here I finally decided to clean and lube my SK ratchets. Out of 5, only 1 even had any kind of grease or oil in it.

On the first one I learned just how “springy” the clips are and it shot out of my pliers. May find it one day, or maybe not. So in the meantime, does anyone know what size clip in needed for a 3/8 drive SK 45174 (stubby 3/8) and where to source it? Or is calling SK the best bet?

All the rest went more smoothly and have a much better feel now.

Cheers!

I’d call SK….I’ve had real good service with them in the past. Prices are fine and shipping is very quick. I like dealing with them.

Called them, and they offered to send me the rebuild kit. Just took my name and address, and said it'd be in the mail soon

Did they say what they meant by "soon"? I ordered a rebuild kit in November, assuming they would drop it in the mail soonish. Called again in January, and was told the rebuild kit would ship in two weeks. I'm still waiting ...

We're talking S-K here. It took them three years to release there non-reversible ratcheting box wrenches. DON'T HOLD YOUR BREATH.

I have parts for those just send me a message with an address and what size ratchet you need as these are specific to these ratchets no standard clip will fit. If both of you need clips just let me know I have enough

Well the way the lady spoke made it sound immediate, but I didn’t specifically ask.

I know people have had hit & miss luck with SK, which is why I was wondering if anyone had McMaster part number (or similar) that was a good replacement

Ah good to know, I didn’t know SK made these specific to their product. I’ll send you a message

Well, I'll be darned, my rebuild kit showed up today. My faith in S-K is at least partialy restored.
