I get 50% off tools for being in an automotive program and I was wondering if I should take advantage of some deals while I have the opportunity.

I mostly have craftsman everything because of how easy they are to find and the decent quality, but I plan on getting more suited tools for the future and when I get bigger into the field.

Also get blue point discounts.
Thanks in advance.

Guts, get quality snap ring pliars internal and external - nothing worse than ****** snap ring pliars . Ask anybody. Get them FAST !

You can upgrade wrenches or rachets etc. eventually

For that big of a discount I'd look at the 18v cordless impacts.

That's just me though. I'm a big fan of them and haven't found a similarly priced 1/2" cordless that has quite the same power.

Definitely a set of FD+ wrenches and play around with ratchets and see if you like them. Torque wrench? With a 50% discount I'd recommend a lot of stuff that I normally would recommend getting from industrial brands. I'd imagine you could pick up stuff like sockets, pliers, wrenches, just about everything for the same price or so as the no-name brands all while getting the S/O warranty. And name, if you're into that

Does anyone know if the student discount used to be bigger? I was just talking to someone about it the other day who said he got closer to a 75% discount "back in the day"

...And brake line wrenches....Big time...

The flare nut wrenches are about the only thing where there truly seems to be a consensus that SO is better. At least for domestic production; not sure how they would compare to the best from Germany or Japan...

I personally love the older style for sheer aesthetics!

All the tools you think you might use daily all the basic hard line stuff to start with. most students don't have a huge budget but you essentials are key to getting started

325 and 725 impacts they will pay for themselves within 2 months.

Sockets in 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2. Ratchets. Torque wrenches in atleast 3/8 and 1/2. A set of flankdrive wrenches. Don't waste your money on SAE stuff unless your going to industral or ag equipment. I've used my SAE tools only two times since I started in automotive and one of those times was fixing my 4 post lift!!!
