I have decided to do an epoxy floor coating for my garage which is about 450sf. This was supposed to be done before we moved into the house 4 years ago. However, the contractor put paint down the garage floor even though our contract said Epoxy. He ran out of money he said. Anyway, fast forward to today, I still want to do the project because the paint is peeling everywhere but would prefer to go the DIY route this time around. Since I have paint on the floor, I know I need to grind it. I've seen so much information on possible ways to accomplish this that I am a bit confused. Can anyone recommend exactly what to rent by make and model perhaps? Concrete grinding for dummies
What accessories and attachments would I need
I've heard that you can use
1)Floor polisher + Diamabrush grinder + Diamabrush prep tool?
2)Angle grinder?
3)10 inch grinder?
4)Planetary Grinder
If I rented these tools, would I require any accessories? I also looked at sunbelt rentals to see what is available to rent. I found the following list which is quite long https://www.sunbeltrentals.com/equi...surface-preparation-equipment/?items=915,917#
For those who have done this or do it regularly, what tools and accessories would you use for a garage my size? Would some of these tools/equipment combinations make things go faster? I found some recommendations for Edco but not sure which one to get and how fast things would be.
TIA
