I am an apprentice diesel fitter so I work on heavier machinery,
alot of 1/2 and 3/4 drive but also small 14 and 3/8 and 1 inch and 1.5 inch drive,

But in your job what do you use the mos,
alot of car mechanics use ther 3/8 more than half,
my list would probably go

1/2 drive
3/8
1/4
3/4
1
1.5!

So poll away

Was asking myself the same question this am. I decided the answer is:

1. 3/8
2. 1/2
3. 3/4
4. 1/4

3/8 then 1/2 inch (but rarely use a ratchet with 1/2 mostly Impacts) then 1/4 inch drive. It's very rare I dig into my 3/4 drive. Most of my 1 inch drive gets used as spacers on the press.

I primarily use 1/4, but eventually have to switch to 3/8 to get the job done.
I only work on the generator or the alternator on my snap on truck. Luckily both have been ok for the past few months.

I use 1/4 drive about 95% of the time at work. Then it's either 3/8 or 1/2 about 4% of the time (I only carry one 1/2 drive socket, but one of my torque wrenches is 1/2 drive, all my sockets from 9/16" to 1" are 3/8 drive). The remaining 1% is either 3/4 or 1" drive, only to do three fasteners on two aircraft, one on another, and none on the last (of the types I work on).

At home I use 3/8, 1/2, 1/4 in that order. I don't know a percentage on that. I have a couple sockets that are 3/4 drive, but I use a 1/2 to 3/4 adapter for them.
