I was hoping they have measurements, looks like the original ratchet I hope to replace is "shallow", will report back once I have all the info!

^ The Tekton 1/4" model I have does have an overly long handle. None of my other 1/4" drive ratchets are that long.
Might not fit into that box without modifications.
I think @BlakeTheCarGuy uses a lot of "Duralast" - I'm not familiar with that product line because I hardly ever go into those parts stores.

Good to know about the overly long handle, thanks! I'm gonna add my Hart 3/8 ratchet to the measurement pool and see if there is a "standard".
Will do! (Edit...Capri: looks right, only 72T that I can tell,90T are comfort grip and non QR; Gearwrench: looks right, 90T, need to find more pics/dimensions).
The Icon models have the same look and are 90T, but no quick release.
This WORKPRO model looks like it would work, but only 72T.
So it may come down to which is more important to me, 90T or quick release. Never used non quick release ratchets before, so I should play with this Duralast one first and see if I'm missing out on anything.

Definitely the shape so many copy to some extent, at least as far as the handle goes, but Snap-on has been using that same basic shape for their ratchets for more than a few decades before that FR80 which first came out around 2012 iirc. I've still got a few 30-tooth gen Snap-on ratchets that have that same shape as my Dual 80s, and I believe the generations of Snap-on ratchets that preceded them did too.
Just for example, here's a 1/2" S936 (36 tooth) that's at least 25 years old next to a 3/8" F80 that's about 10 or so.

Perhaps this SATA 3 pc set will fit your needs? $25 for the set of 3.
SATA is owned by APEX tool group, just like GearWrench, Crescent, etc.
The 3/8 is 72 tooth.

Reason I say second is, I recall coming across that ratchet during a search (didn't know about the 3-piece set, which I would eventually want!), but the dimensions for the 3/8 under the specs show > 8", but that could be including packaging and what not, so the numbers you posted look better...maybe I should gamble on the 1/4" first and go from there.

Amazon "product dimensions" are almost always the package size, though that seems small given it was answered that the 1/2" dr is 9-1/2", so .... Maybe they are packaged at an angle with that 1/2" dr corner to corner? IDK.
Really isn't much of a gamble for $25 for a 3 pc set, plus it's Amazon so within 30 days it can be returned for most any reason (and if so, then someone else here at GJ will probably snag that set for $16.99 on an Amazon Warehouse deal ).

The Icons are the right look, but the short version is 7-5/8” and the long is 9-1/16”, curse you, Duralast, and me for liking you!
Edit: Forgot about Titan, their 68101 (72T, QR) has the FR80 look, specs indicate 7-3/4” OAL.

I'd be pullin' out the hacksaw and makin' that hole big enough for the Tekton, but that's only because I own one.
The Pro-Grade ratchet came in, it fits the case pretty good! It's slightly smaller (~7-13/16” OAL) and thicker at the head than the Duralast one, but the case closes!
The direction lever is plastic, never seen that before, so I will be wanting to change that to a metal one, as well as replace those phillips head screws with torx, to look like everyone else's ratchet! Can anyone point me in the right, ahem, direction on finding the best source for upgrade parts?
Then I'll move on to the 1/4 and 1/2 ratchets!

Bought the WORKPRO version because it was on "sale", and specs showed 7-3/4”. It's nearly identical to the PRO-GRADE, but better. The direction lever feels more solid on the WP. I put a magnet to both levers, they are both metal, but the PG feels so flimsy/had so little magnetic attraction that it almost feels metal plated. Will use it as a throwaway or parts ratchet.
