I thought The Best Flashlight is a Candlestick :D No? :(

On a more serious note, Home Depot has a few flashlights on sale for the Holiday Season, pretty decent, a little over $10, seems to be getting positive reviews over it luminosity.

The Steamlight Stinger DS LED is what I have. I've dropped it off of lifts, ladders, into coolant, etc. Tough as nails. Some of my co-workers have had their Stinger for more than twenty years with the original batteries using it every day as an auto tech. Their Streamlights which used to be black, are mostly silver now from all the times they've been dropped.

For all of you that like your Mag-light's for their body's durability but don't like the bulb breakage when dropped look in to a Malkoff insert. Sorry I can't find the link at the moment. Gene is an awesome guy, his shop is based in Alabama and the product that he sells is amazing.

I tried one of his drop in inserts for my 2D cell ML and was very impressed with the amount of light that it can produce and how far it will throw a beam. I have up graded all of my ML's to his insert's and also upgraded my Surefire light with equal satisfaction..

There is a company out there called Alzetta? that uses one of the Malkoff insert's in their light and the salesman uses it to drive nails into a 2x4 with it hundreds of times and it has not failed in a demo yet.

This peaked my interest so I looked it up: Malkoff Devices

Sounds like a solid solution and a quality product, but a little on the pricey side (I think... I'm not familiar with the price point on these sort of things); the Maglite drop-ins are on sale for $39.99 (down from $44.00).

I like my TerraLUX Lightstar 300. Really bright, but possibly a bit of a battery ****.

Streamlight Strion Led. Have 2, one is 5 years old and the other is 4. Always one on me and one in charger ready to go. I've dropped them, ran them over, sank them underwater. The older one is pretty much silver now, I've worn off all the anodizing. I've had one battery replaced and one tail switch replaced under lifetime warranty through my Matco dealer.

I was gonna say streamlight but you say you have problems with them. How did you break them?

The streamlights I had the problem with was the small pen sized flashlight. I've had the thread on battery cap end sieze. ended up breaking the flashlight body. The switches on these lights are just bad. They loose good contact pretty quickly. I just bought a new streamlight stinger.

I use a streamlight strion at work and its great. The only problem I have had is sometimes the button on the bottom seems to not work once in while and you cannot either shut off or turn on the flashlight; unscrew the bottom a little and then tighten again and back in business.

Bought a 5 bank charger for stingers and it has been great for our maintenance crews as we don't have to deal with changing batteries or people stealing flashlights since they can only charge them at work.

Streamlight has a lifetime warranty right? I know my buddy has sent his in before, they replaced everything but the batteries and tailcap. Whole body switch etc. I think they just put his tailcap on a new light.
I love my stylus pro and stinger HL. Still have a couple of old 2-3 cell maglights in the cars. The stylus never leaves me and the stinger is in my pocket most of the time.
