Hey guys,

I was wondering if anyone could reccomend the best t8 fluorescent setup for a 20x30 shop? Preferrably something I can get at home depot.

thanks in advance,

brad

I bought eleven of these ones from Home Depot...

They have 4 T8 bulbs and a residential rated ballast so they do not interfere with radio. The big thing to watch out for with the T8 lights is ballasts rated for 120-277 volts are not residential rates and often cause radio interference.

My shop is 30x42 and the eleven lights provide plenty of light. I have three rows of three lights for the main area and two over my workbenches.

The 4' 2 bulb lights from Lowes are nice IMHO than the equivalent lights at HD. I buy a lot from HD but prefer the Lowes shop light. $18. If you buy 6500K bulbs in bulk 10 packs, figure $2.50 per bulb right now. The 8' fixtures are a good buy also - same fixture at HD or Lowes.

Installed 19 of the 2 bulb 4' Lights of America lights from Walmart. Only had to take 2 back for being bad. That coupled with Phillps 5k lights and it is daylight in my garage right now. No interference from the ballasts at all. And hell, if one goes bad, replace with another for $10, no biggie.
