Nearest I can figure it's some kind of pipe clamp, but I certainly could be wrong
The only making on it is a letter B underneath where the handle is screwed on

my 1st thought was an old spring compressor, but its kinda small.

the threads are course and old(or cheap).

maybe a **** tool?:lol_hitti

I t hink it's a common laboratory clamp. They are used for test tube and beakers

Which would explain the dried black stuff, possible boil over goo, that I had to chip off the fingers.

Now to figure out what to use it for

It makes a great clamp on handle for working with a pipe wrench.
Now I don't need three hands for a complicated glue up.
