Sears has been selling Evolv tools. I saw this toolbox that had both Craftsman and Evolv logos on it. The price sticker on top read "Craftsman Evolv"
It was $90 I think
At the bottom of the box, which can't be read in the picts, says "made in USA of US and global components"

As far as I know, the actual tools aren't associated with Craftsman in any way

just to be sure I checked out the evolv tools and none of the packaging had "Craftsman" on it, however I see it on the evolv website

I remember when the Companion tools were around, they never said "Craftsman Companion"

I think they said "Sears Companion"

What do you guys expect from a line of tools that are being sold at a department store along side women's underwear? Actually, they should have retired the Craftsman brand name a long time ago instead of stamping the name on imported Asian products.

Having some experience in "branding", I think I see what is up here (as does pretty much everyone here)...

1) Introduce Evov brand. It's original intent was to probably offer a lower cost line of tools so Sears can compete with other retailers. This would keep folks coming into the stores and could help keep the Craftsman line alive. All of this a-la Blue Point and Snap On. But if this doesn't work out, then...

2) Start co-branding the tools Evolv/Craftsman to see if the tie to Craftsman will help sales. If not...

3) Merge the two under the Craftsman brand. This will increase the margin and help the business overall. Customers lose quality.

Pat

I expect that they are finding that the Evolv brand is not catching on. So...now it's co-branded. Eventually it will just become Craftsman.

If the evolve and c-man merge as one will you still be able to walk into a store and get an even exchange without a receipt??? Mayby we will see more wrenchers selling out thier c-man tools on e-bay and here to avoid that quagmire!!!:headscrat:lol_hitti
