What tire dressing do you use?

First of all I would like to say that I do not want my tires to be shiney! I am after a rich black satin finish. For years I used Meguires D163 tire and trim coating, but Meguires and their infinite wisdom decided to discontinue the product. It was expensive but it worked well and gave the satin finish I desire.
Have any of you used a product that works well and has some longevity? I do not want a silicone based product because it contaminates paint and makes repairs difficult.

I recently tried Chemical Guys High Gloss on a whim. At first I did not like it - didn't seem like it had any staying power (it's water soluble, so this could have been a factor). But now after using it again I'm really liking it.
- Despite the name, I am not getting any gloss when applied to tires
- I watered mine down a little, it's thick and awkward to apply at full strength, seemed wasteful and possibly contributed to my discontent with the first application.
- It's been nearly 12 days since it was applied to 3 of our vehicles and they all still look great despite daily driving and one vehicle being used for 2 truck loads of road base and being around dirty landscape construction environments. This last vehicle was hosed off to get the dirt off and the tires still look good. It's staying power seems to be better than the consumer stuff I've used from local auto parts stores.

I will note that I definitely didn't like this product for inside the car though. For that I'm sticking to Einszett Cockpit Premium + Aerospace303.

Actually, I like the dirt the rain kicks up on the tires and wheels while the vehicles are parked on the curb.

Not too fussy, as long as the wheels turn.

I've used a TON of tire dressings over the years. For the look you are seeking, I'd say Optimum Optibond Tire Gel is what you're looking for.

I use this stuff - foam on and leave it - looks a bit better if you give it a wipe after all the foam goes away. It is a nice satin, but not really shiny or wet-looking. More than one coat seems to increase the shine but I just like the clean but not dry tire look.

I also use armor all tire foam. I spray on, spray the other 3 tires then wipe off the first
this is also good for the plastic inner fender, mud flaps, rubber floor mats etc.
if you want just a natural look, just wipe the tire with paint thinner

I use Wash Wax All Degreaser - one step cleaner - spray on, agitate, wipe off and you're done. Leaves the tires looking like the day they were mounted on the rims.

And I use the regular Wash Wax All to clean the car. I don't have water hookup at my shop and this is a waterless cleaner / protectant developed for aircraft and boats. Used to order it direct but now you can get it thru Amazon as well.

I use "Beyond Black" from Surf City Garage. It works very well and stays black for a good long time. Makes the tires nice and black with very little shine.

I also continue to use armour all.
I cut 50% with water, spray it on and wipe it down with a damp sponge. Let it dry and wipe it again with a dry towel.

X2 for the 303. Mrs. LS6 likes a little gloss on her tires, they get Griot's. It looks pretty good if you wipe the excess off.

I like Meguiars Hot Shine tire foam. It not only adds protection and some shine, but it seems to do a great job of cleaning without a whole lot of scrubbing.

I saw on sale at O'Reilly that Stoner now has a black trim protectant/cleaner... gave that a shot on my black trim and it seemed to work well. I've always been pleased with their glass cleaner so I thought I'd give it a shot.

The longest lasting dressing I've used is Zaino Z-16.

I'm currently using up a very good product, Poorboy's Bold N Bright. It's actually not bright, looks natural but you still can tell you've done something.

303 is great stuff for the boat and exposed black trim but it doesn't look like you applied anything when I used it on tires.

I have tried a lot of products in my detail shop and my favorite for tire dressing is Meguiars Hyper Dressing. I'm not a fan of shiny tire dressing but if that's what a customer wants I have a bottle diluted 2:1. If they want a matte finish then I have a bottle diluted 4:1. It's easy to apply and looks great.

Any oil based (silicon) product is bad for tires. And tire makers used to void warranties on tires with stuff on them. Pirelli used to reject them a lot. Not sure how it is now, been out of that for a while

The Duragloss stuff us good, especially if you can find it locally. I haven't tried the Optimum tire products, but their other products work very well. I don't really care for Aerospace 303 on tires. It is a good product for those things that may need UV protection but, in my opinion, it doesn't look nearly as good on the tires as the other products designed for tires.

One other option is CarPro PERL. I currently use this on all my cars. It goes on easy and really dresses the tire up. Seems to last a while, too. The thing I REALLY like about it is that it is multi-purpose and can be used on more than the tires. It really does a good job of dressing up plastics as well.

Not all Silicone is "oil" (petroleum) based. There are two types of silicone dressings-

Polydimethylsiloxane has a water based carrier and does not damage tires.

Dimethal has a solvent based carrier and is terrible for tires.

Slight derailment of this thread - same products for ATV tires? Summer tires need a clean before swapping and my winter tires (being new and all) that never saw dirt look too nice :)

For years Ive used meguiars endurance or hot tire shine. When first put on it looks like a high gloss but quickly fades to a satin look.

Lately Ive been using chemical guys VRP dressing. Seems to leave a good satin look.

303 is what works best IMHO. It looks like new car rubber vs that fake look like you just came from the ghetto. It also protects vs harms rubber.

I like "m. e. Miller tire paint" like original rubber, no golss.
