Hey guys I was wondering what you guys use to clean your soft grip stuff with... There's certain things that won't wipe off no matter how fast you wipe them off like anti seize lol...
I usually wipe my tools down with brake cleaner when I put them away. It'll remove some writing like that on a torque wrench dial but I haven't had any problems with it damaging the actual grip.
Windex or glass cleaner line 1.
Simple Green or orange pumice line 1.5
Naptha line 2.
3M adhesive remover line 3.
MEK or laquer thinner line 4.
Gasoline or brake-kleen line 5.
Ur trying to clean a polymer, not soften it nor nuke it.
Duh.
wow, nobody suggested denatured alcohol??? That's what I'd use, it's awesome for so many greasy things. If that doesn't work I'll use WD40 then go over it with denatured alcohol. Much safer than brake cleaner.
The best product i've found is Grez-Off. It comes in concentrated and spray bottles. Not only is it great for cleaning parts but will literally wipe those spongy Snap-On plier grips completely clean so they look like new. Anyone who has SO pliers know what a grime magnet they are. If i can think of it i'll do a before and after tomorrow since i havent touched my Slip Joints with it before. I'll even dip them in anti seize (yep it removes that too).
