What to complete before drywall?

I'm taking forever to complete the garage? Passed final inspection almost 3 years ago and I'm still wiring, etc. I want to complete that and insulate before winter....but (here come the questions!)

1) I don't want to put up the liftmaster 3800s until after drywall...is there a better way?
2) I don't want to put up the reznor udas until after drywall....it seems that this makes sense...comments?
3) I don't want to put up a mini-split (don't have this yet) until after drywall...but need to be fully prepared before drywall.
4) I'm even thinking about removing the garage door tracks from the ceiling so drywall can be put under them.

Is there a better way to deal with all this? Should I just put up all this stuff and have them (no way I'm doing it at 63 - 32x8x12 with stairs to a good sized attic!)

I'm looking for comments on all your wonderfully varied experiences!
Thanks,
Tom

I wouldn't think twice about rock'n my shop, in fact it needs to be done by the end of the year as dose the house, and I will be 63 in November. Rent a lift and slap that stuff up.

Put in LAN cable, coax, speaker wire and compressed air before sealing up the wall. Another thing you may consider is using panels instead of drywall. I did that in one garage I had and each panel could be taken off to access utilities, etc.

I have cat6E , coax and telephone line in already. Also have the propane line extended and wired security system installed.

My real questions are how to deal with the items in my original post; the liftmaster, the mini splits, the reznor heater, etc.

Thanks,
Tom

Why the minisplit and a reznor? The minisplit should supply heat also.
Like everyone has mentioned, wire, water, gas. Well not water unless it is an inside wall.

Mini split to cool it down during the hot months and provide heat down to 35F outside temp. Below that and the Reznor will run.

I have water and a half bath.

Would you install the door openers before drywall?

They aren't hard to pull down to drywall behind them. Same thing with the garage door tracks. Just remove the brackets that support the end of the rail, hang the rock, and put them back up.

Install the openers with a piece of scrap drywall behind them so that they are in the correct position once the final rock is up.

Take pics of the studs and rafters. It will be worth it when you go to hang anything large and/or heavy and you can't figure out where or why there isn't a stud where you need it.

My garage has some odd twists and turns (one balloon wall, a loft, different I-beam spacing in different parts of the ceiling due to load) and I have wished several times that I had even a bad picture of the walls and ceiling before the sheetrock covered everything up.

I'm torn as to whether I need just a mini split for my attached 2-car or a mini-split and a heater. I'm in DC area so temps are typically btw 15-105 degrees in a "normal" year. I have a natural gas line running right through my garage.
Thoughts??
