So I am about to paint my garage and floors and need to know what you guys think I can do with the cinder blocks that line where the floor meets the walls. They are rather inconvenient because they stick out about 2-3 inches. I really want to put a workbench and some shelving on one of the walls. I thought about making different height legs so that the stuff could be flush with the walls... But even if I do that is there a way I could "finish" the cinder blocks so they have a better appearance than they do now? Here are a couple pics that I cut out of a video. Cant take any pics for now, overseas.

you can paint em with cheap garage floor paint, You are not gonna drive on em so no need to worry about hot tire pull up, and just epoxy the floor.

just paint the lower block with deck paint. build a workbench like you normally would, just install the top so it sticks off the back that couple inches you need to make up so it fits flush against the wall instead of different length legs. then at least you could use it elsewhere later if necessary.

Standard method is to parge coat them. There are different products you can use, but basically it is a cementitious coating of a plaster-like consistency. Gives a very good paintable surface.

I'd just paint em, put a sealer on first. But if you want something finish like. Grab a bag of stucco, mix, then trowel it on smooth and paint, or go back over with another coat and make up a texture. Broom scratch, knock down, etc. I'd keep it smooth, i'm in fl, block stucco house, hate the stucco in the garage, lots of nooks and edges etc that collect dirt and dust.

Just cover it with pressure treated wood or the new composite material so it doesn't wick water. After you cover it ,just paint it. A lot easier than stucco, parging etc. and it will look great. Done this on a few garages in the past.

For the top of the block, I think I would rip down a 2x4 (or 2x6) and lay it on top of the block and screw it into the other sill plate.

A sheet metal shop can bend you some covers.
Your choice of colors, or get it pre-primed and paint to match.
