Well of course you are correct. But this is what the licensed mitigation company did and what the buyers accepted so I was happy to get the problem solved and the house sold.

I get it. It's too bad that crawl spaces are still done like this.

So I think a lot of them are just clay, but I'm sure that would depend on the weather. here the ground is 57 F, so the benefit of insulation is not very high.

You don't usually insulate the floor... It's the walls that need it
