What to do with C'man junk

I have a set of Craftsman Universal sockets, 3/8" ratchet, and metric ratcheting wrenches I bought before I realized C'man was being made in China. I wouldn't automatically dismiss them but after 4-5 years of use I've had enough of them. There only appreciable function is to round over fasteners; a talent that is only limited by their incredibly long movement before they do a darned thing.

I hate to just throw them away but I also hate to subject anyone else to such crappy tools. I had first thought about giving them to my son but then I want him to want to take care of his own cars lol.

So what would you do with them?

eBay. Charge for shipping but start the listing at a penny. Cash in your pocket and tools gone, guaranteed.

Trade them at a used store (you won't get much, but still better than nothing), donate to Habitat for humanity or as dumb as this sounds, just leave them somewhere. At work, in a parking lot, you could even put a note on them "free, take me".

I dont have many Chinese craftsman tools but when I do run in to a **** tool I own I scrap it. Unless I think I can get money for it then I sell it on CL.

You bought Chinese-made Craftsman tools 4-5 years ago? I thought the switch was more recent.

hardline tools, yes...but for things like universal sockets and ratchet wrenches it has been a few years

Last I looked into this, at least in my area, NOTHING you donate gets used by the school, they just warehouse, not always inside, and it goes into a bulk sale auction for the district once or twice a year.

Give em to a kid who likes to tinker with his bike... Maybe it'll light the mechanic spark for him...?

I have been pondering two choices for **** tools:

Put together a loaner kit.

Weld them into a humanoid art figure, mount it on a tree stump, and name it Old Ratchet ***
