What to do with my Matco wrenches?

I have a long pattern Matco metric wrench set. The 13mm and 15mm are worn out. I no longer have a matco tool truck in my area.

Take the whole set home? Buy a set from another truck? Buy 2 replacements from another brand tool truck?

Matco has Mail in service, but might want to rethink your plan of attack, Most warranties only cover the lifetime of the tool, IF you have worn it out from extreme use its possibly, not likely... But They could deny your claim.

buy some replacements to match them from ebay and move on. especially if they are the older bonney made style.

Id pay a few bucks postage and send them into Matco with a nice note explaining the situation. Id be surprised if they didn't send you two brand new replacements in the mail. Shucks, even a phone call explaining your situation might get you the same response.

Are they broken? How are they worn out?

I think if you register with the MATCO web site, you can mail them in for possible warranty replacement.

You could find replacement individual wrenches on eBay?

There's no reason to throw the baby out with the bath water.

What have you been using 13mm and 15mm on so much to wear them out?

I got a set of deep impact sockets that didn't even include a 15 mm.
(Yeah, they're from HF)

Fill the holes the worn ones leave with dresh tools. Then get bacj to working like nothing ever changed.

Use Bonney wrenches as replacements if the style fits your likes.
Its just utiltarian tools after all.

Good luck finding 13 and 15 MM Long pattern Bonney wrenches. I been looking for several months to fill in my original Bonney set as both of mine broke in the last 2 years after having the the set since 1983.

Some people are OCD and want the same brand. I wouldn't care personally if I had a couple SK, GW, Proto, etc as replacements. But may as well try to get them warrantied. Just pop a couple temporary ones in their place for now.

I've called matco over the phone before. It was....a mixed bag. He was willing to do one or two items over the phone but he needed the exact part numbers off the tool RIGHT NOW. Otherwise, he said to use the website.

Either get Matco to exchange them or buy replacements of another brand that you like. If you really want Matco wrenches, then look at ebay. Matco tools seems to be cheap on ebay compared to the Matco web site.

The open end is spread. They are not that old. Maybe 8 yrs but I use these 2 all day

I would say if they spread , that would be under warranty. They may not make your wrench by part number , but send you an equivalent replacement wrench.

There's a couple of Matco trucks out here in the Ontario, CA area, post the part numbers you need and I'll ask my Matco guy to order them, when they come in you can exchange them with me somewhere in the Inland Empire area.

That's what I thought. Replace them with Snap-on wrenches and they will never wear out. Don't forget that Snap-on makes a standard length and also a long length. Their long length will be like a Matco extra long.

13mm standard is part# OEXM130B
15mm standard is part# OEXM150B

13mm long is part# OEXLM13B
15mm long is part# OEXLM15B

Set up an online account with Matco and you can send them in. That's what I did when there was no dealer in the area.
