What to do with this space?

My overall ceiling height is 13'4"....a little odd I know. When I built the bathroom I only wanted the ceiling 8'. It only seemed right to continue the bathroom ceiling across to the front wall (I would never need the 13' height in that little space by the door). I know I could obviously use this upper space for storage, but I have an entire 14x40 loft upstairs for that. The space above the barhroom is about 7x18 but is only 4'10" tall...not quite enough for standing height. I plan on using the garage to do car and truck work, maybe a few longer term projects, and an all-around guy hangout. I guess I'm looking for some unique ideas to utilize this space, not just throw our xmas decorations or pool stuff or car parts up there...would make a cool stage for a mini rock band!!:deathmeta

A big hammock, a beer fridge, and a tropical ocean mural scene painted on the wall. Bright blue sky with a couple of fluffy clouds painted on the ceiling. Add a fan or air conditioner if needed and a stereo system to play the sound of crashing waves and seagulls.

I don't see a window in the bathroom, so you'll have a ventilator duct and probably some plumbing and wiring up there. I think it's best used for Christmas / Thanksgiving/ Easter etc decorations and such. Or leave it as-is until you identify a need for it.

Rent it to dwarfs or midgets. After last night's season finale, Tyiron Lannister is looking for someplace to live (for those of you who watch Game of Thrones.)

A place for your 4K TV and some speakers:

Might have to hang it over the edge though, it's too tall (1.8 meters).
And you might have to save up for it ($142K for the basic model).

Or you could live where all that is out my back door :)

Antique motorcycle display area. Maybe mannequins dressed in slutty evening wear. I do like the stage idea, buy some cheap drums, guitars and other gear and make a stage scene. Of course that only applies if you're really into music.

You mentioned car stuff, you could start a pedal car collection ad display them up there. Problem with using it as a display area is keeping it clean, around here (where I live) it would get dusty in a bad way in short order.

Parts loft for sure, you can put stuff in there that you use more often. Put in a library ladder to access.
I have one in my garage (over the garage door) and the ceiling is about 4'. Totally useable.

If you want something else, just make it a chill spot with a tv and low seat.

This is almost one of those situations where you say "if you have to ask..."

What do you do in your shop? I restore bikes and cars in mine. When I do a car
the first thing I need is find a place to store my interior (seats and dash) and all the exterior trim and chrome.

All the ideas are great!! The hangout lounge is a good idea but not sure about climbing down a ladder after a few cold ones....the 'short term' parts holding area sounds good too, keeping the garage floor clear while working...the compressor is going in the closet down next to the bathroom, where it will be insulated and quiet. I do need to put a furnace somewhere, maybe up top is just the right place...
